Description:

Settled in 1607 by VA company --> British Settlement (permanent)
Life was really hard because of the new environment and the people struggles wth diseases and death, and it was extremely hard to harvest (harsh winters). Tobacco was life changing for jamestown because it made Jamestown successful. (a cash crop and base of Jamestown economy)

Led by Capt. John Smith who declared "he who shall not work shall not eat"
