Around 507 BC, a three institution political system called “Demokratia” (Rule by the people) was introduced by the Athenian leader Cleisthenes. The three institutions, Ekklesia, The Boule, and The Dikasteria. This system allowed for the development of modern democracy
Greek individuals imposed the ideas that citizens should be able to have power and have their voices be heard. People were able to vote These ideas showcase the classic liberal principle of individual rights.
