Description:
Antiochus III, also known as Antiochus the Great, was a Seleucid king who forged alliances with Armenia, Parthia, and Bactria. Antiochus marched against the Ptolemies and Romans conquering much of the region. However, following his harboring of Hannibal, the Romans marched against him. He was defeated which lead to the beginning of the end of the Seleucids in their two front war. Their territory was reduced drastically with the loss of land in Europe and western Asia Minor. They also famously lost their elephants.
