The New Deal Alphabetic Agencies (part 1) (1 janv. 1933 – 1 janv. 1939)

Description:

Agricultural Adjustment Act (AAA): paid farmers to not farm some plots, destroy crops, and slaughter livestock in order to raise farm prices.

Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC): put young men to work on roads and in national parks. It paid room and board and a small stipend, sent directly home to their families.

Emergency Banking Relief Act (EBRA): authorized the Treasury Department to inspect the nation's banks before they were reopened. One of FDR's first acts as President.

Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC): provided federal insurance for bank accounts to encourage public confidence in the banks

Federal Emergency Relief Act (FERA): gave states federal funding to provide direct relief to the poor

Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA):established maximum hours and minimum wages and banned child labor

Home Owners' Loan Corporation (HOLC): provided government loans to homeowners at risk of foreclosure
