-Where: Egypt-They founded Greek style cities and made lots of money; vast revenue poured into the treasury from rent payments, taxes, and monopolies on olive oil, salt, and papyrus
-The land was easy to rule b/c the ppl were all the same ethnicity; they also encouraged Greeks to move from the homeland and rewarded them for doing so
