Black Death (1 janv. 1346 – 1 janv. 1353)
Description:
Started when disease spread to Sicily, Italy from Asia. With lack of personal hygiene and quarantine regulation the disease was able to flourish. It killed 50-60% of its victims and led people to question the origins of the disease. Many believed that it was sent by God or that Jewish poisoned the city wells, increasing anti-semiticism. The Black Death also known as the Bubonic Plague crippled Europe but led to people starting to express their ideas through new forms of art.
