Description:

The Terranist movement that founded the new regime controlling Earth had an ideological split between the Republicans (who preferred governance mainly under representative democracy) and the Gaianists (a new ideology seeking rule under a diverse coalition of experts, direct democracy by accomplished citizens, ultra-advanced AI, and a few elected representatives from the masses), with the Republicans initially winning out. They proved to be incompetent, and the 18th world war saw them being ousted from power in a brief civil war, with Earth now being placed under the Gaian Order.
