Orsini Affair (1 janv. 1858 – 1 juin 1858)
Description:
a failed assassination attempt on Napoleon III by a group of 4 people with Count Felice Orsini as their leader, out of Orsini wanting France to help Italy. Supposedly, he believed that if he killed Napoleon III, a new republican government would instate itself and come to Italy’s aid. Whatever the case, it spurred Napoleon to meet Cavour at Plombieres (ie → finally realize his desire to “do something for italy”)Ajouté au bande de temps:
