Black Codes (1 janv. 1865 – 1 janv. 1866)
Description:
The Black Codes were implemented to restrict the rights of black people. These rights include a right to own property, and a right to conduct business and move freely through public spaces. This is something that the South would agree with, because they're trying to limit what people of color can do, even after the outcome of the Civil War. This was a step back from Reconstruction, this limited what those of color could do during the period.
