New Nation’s Growing Pains 1783 - 1800 (1 janv. 1783 – 1 janv. 1953)

Description:

The process of creating the founding documents was defined by compromise as the founders attempted to negotiate the divide between Federalists and Anti-Federalists to define the powers of the US federal and state governments. The conflict resulted in a bicameral legislature and the Bill of Rights, but failed to protect or acknowledge rights of enslaved people.

Jacksonian Democracy was based around the Two-Party and Spoils System. The Two-Party System established the Democratic and Republican Party. The Spoils System allowed the party to provide its supporters more representation/public office. Therefore, these systems made it difficult to settle tensions, especially when Democrat and Republican have opposite ideals. While the Spoils System, allowed authoritative figures to manipulate supporters and gain more powerful positions, regards of their lack of experience/skill.
