Townshend Acts (15 juin 1767 – 2 juill. 1767)

Description:

The Townshend acts started in 1767. The Townshend act was created by Charles Townshend. The Americans thought the Townshend act was unfair because they were not represented in the British Parliament so they could not get a vote or say in the voting. The Townshend act lead to difficulties because the Act gave the colonists more reason to revel and led to death of 11 people in the Boston Massacre. The Townshend acts also initiated taxes on glass, lead, paper, paint, and tea.
