3. Renaissance (1 janv. 1500 – 1 janv. 1600)
Description:
This period of the renaissance in England from about 1500-1600, is loaded with famous writers and treasured texts. Spenser, Marlowe, Jonson, Milton, Donne, and the incomparable William Shakespeare are just a few of the names that appear on the Renaissance writer´s Honor Roll.
Renaissance writers not only wanted to imitate art, they hoped to, change reality through art. Additionally, the writers reflected a spirit of exploration that was happening throughout the world. Renaissance writers like Shakespeare brought to life settings beyond English borders. Writers also believed in the art of imitation gravitating towards Greek and Roman writers and writing styles.
