Nazi Camps (2 févr. 1933 – 2 sept. 1945)
Description:
The Nazi government built a series of sites to imprison and murder "enemies of the state."
Most inmates in the concentration camps were political prisoners. Communists, Socialists, Social Democrats, Roma, Jehovah's Witnesses, homosexuals, and people accused of unacceptable social behavior were at these camps. Concentration camps are camps in which people are captured or confined, and are forced to live in horrible conditions, many of which were considered inhumane, such as the unsanitary environments.
Nazi officials arrested a many Jews throughout the country. Over 30,000 German Jews were locked up in the Dachau, Buchenwald, and Sachsenhausen concentration camps in Germany, for reasons such as emigrating. Along with concentration camps there were also slave camps, with forced labor, which would benefit the German economy. However, these workers were not provided with things like proper equipment, making working at these camps a nightmare. In addition, there were killing camps, mainly utilized for Jews.
By the time World War 2 was over, the horrifying reign of concentration camps was finally over.
