British seige of Charles Town begans (29 mars 1780 – 12 mai 1780)
Description:
The British launched its Southern strategy by beginning a siege of Charles Town, South Carolina on March 28th. The siege lasted until May 9th when British artillery fire was close enough to set the town on fire and force a surrender soon thereafter, on May 12th.
