British Vigilant (Privateer) (5 févr. 1780 – 12 févr. 1780)

Description:

LIttle is known about the Privateer Vigilant but it is believed she was purchased by the British as HMS Vigilant (the first HMS Vigilant). By 1779, she was in such bad shape she was converted to a troop transport and gun platform towed by rowing vessels. The vessel moved around in Mckay Creek at the mouth of Moss Creek. The Vigilant could not be removed and was burned.
