Description:

Schwann wrote a book on plant and animal cells that was released in 1939. He summarised what he deduced from his findings like this:
 In living organisms, the cell serves as the basic unit of structure, physiology, and organisation.
 The cell continues to exist both independently as a separate entity and as a component of organisms.
