First cells seen in cork (1 janv. 1665 – 1 janv. 1666)

Description:

Robert Hooke found the first cell and gave it a name. He compared the scene to the cramped monks' cells, or cellula, which is Latin for "tiny compartment." The name therefore came from cellula.
