Uruk Period (1 janv. 4000 av. J.-C. – 1 janv. 3100 av. J.-C.)
Description:
A city-state period in Mesopotamia where different groups vied for power. Advances in art and technology as well as some early contact with Egpyt. The leading cities of the period seem to concentrate in the south. The precursor to cuneiform began to be developed in this period. It is unknown if this culture is the precursor to later Sumerian culture and language, but some think it is likely.
