Edgar's son- The Danes began raiding again.
- He offered to pay them but the attacks resumed and they asked for more and more money. He created a new tax for that: Danegeld.
- Was unable to organize resistance against the Danes
- 1013: Fled to Normandy when Sweyn Forkbeard, King of the Danes, invaded England. By the end of this year, he'd been accepted as king.
