Description:

This was the first major foreign conflict that the United States would become a part of, so a large amount of men were gone from the country. like the Civil War, women had to fill workforce roles but on a much greater scale. Over 1 million women were employed to help the war effort, but were still exploited and payed less than their male counterparts.
