The Whiskey Rebellion (6 juill. 1791 – 6 juill. 1794)
Description:
In response to the tax on liquor that the government put into place, farmers began creating homemade whiskey so that they wouldn't have to pay the tax for their alcohol. President Washingotn eventually heard of this and mobilized a small militia to squash the rebellion against the tax. This served as a demonstration of the lengths the executive branch could go to and that they were willing to use military force when necessary.
