Sarah Osbon LIfespan (1 janv. 1714 – 1 janv. 1796)
Description:
Osborn was born in England and immigrated to Newport with her family at the age of 12. As a teenager, she went against her parents’ wishes and attended a church identified with older Puritan teachings. In 1740, Sarah was “awakened” from a cycle of grief upon hearing a sermon by George Whitefield. Shortly after her awakening, Osborn organized in her home a “religious Female Society,” to provide support for the work of the church.
