Depression of 1873-1879 (1 janv. 1873 – 1 janv. 1879)
Description:
Following rapid industrial growth and overspeculation, 1873 saw an inevitable crash to the overdevelopment of the latter half of the 19th century, as markets became saturated to their limit. The economic slump, while mostly ending in 1879 in Europe, would lead to stagnation that lasted until the end of the century, and the subsequent growth was primarily spurned on by colonial expansion.
