Description:
After the fall the Carolingians, the papacy experiences a protracted period of decaying influence and integrity, climaxing with the Tusculani popes (904-964 CE). This impotency of the papacy was not reversed until the reform measures of Pope Leo IX (r. 1049-1054 CE).
Due to the fall of the Carolingians, the papacy was decaying at a rapid pace, with the climax at the Tusculani popes. This was not reversed to the reform by Pope Leo IX
