Chinese Communist Revolution (1 janv. 1921 – 1 janv. 1949)
Description:
The Chinese Communist Revolution was a social and political movement that attempted to unify and rebuild China after the 1911 Chinese Revolution. It was originally headed by the combined forces of the Guamindang Party (still led by Sun Yat Sen) and the newly formed Chinese Communist Party (led by Mao Zedong). However, the alliance soon fell apart and a civil war broke out, which Mao Zedong and the communists won, propelling them to power.
Mao Zedong declared the People's Republic of China in 1949 and promised equal rights for women, land redistribution, and rent reduction, among other things. However, not many of these things were often protected, and anyone who was considered a counterrevolutionary or "not communist enough" was subjected to violence and prejudice. Additionally, Zedong's attempts to industrialize China, including his Five Year Plan and Great Leap Forward,, may have helped China economically but also caused the death of millions of people.
