Pre WWI Progressivism (1 janv. 1890 – 28 juill. 1914)
Description:
Progressivism impacted the current economy of that time by introducing the concept of worker rights and regulation of large corporations. Theodore Roosevelt in his presidency believed that strong corporations were good for American but must be kept in check in order to protect human rights. Previously, the government promoted a free market and held a laissez-faire attitude, but after the progressive movement worker rights were of greater importance and large corporations could no longer get away with mistreatment.
