Description:

Cause (International): After the Boxer Rebellion, many western nations decided to use China for railroad construction, and the mishandling railroads caused the Sichuan Railway Crisis sparked uprising of Republican revolutionaries that Qing government could not suppress, so they relied.

Effect (International): Under Yuan Shikai's rule, Qing China was still not strong enough to resist
Japanese influence, hence their acceptance of the 21 Demands.

Cause (Domestic): Qing government requested the help of General Yuan Shikai to suppress further uprisings in China.

Effect (Domestic): Yuan becomes Chinese provisional president, Sun Yat Sen steps down and becomes leader of GMD, many rebels become uneasy about Yuan's ambitions, Yuan's acceptance of 21 Demands anger much of the rebels and more Chinese citizens.
