Inca Empire (1 janv. 1438 – 1 sept. 1572)
Description:
The Inca Empire was a mountain-based empire located on the west side of South America. To adapt to their mountainous surroundings, the Inca utilized a form of farming called andenes, in wich flat surfaces were cut out of mountainsides to be used for planting seeds. The Inca also created one of the most extensive road systems in South America at the time, known as the Royal Roads, and employed a form of coerced labor known as the mit'a system in which subjects of the empire would give a certain amount of labor to the empire in exchange for social welfare programs.
