Congress of Vienna (1 nov 1814 – 1 juin 1815)
Description:
The Congress of Vienna was an assembly of all the major European states following the Napoleonic Wars that redefined the borders of Europe. Changes of note: France restored to its 1791 borders, Austria annexes Salzburg, Venezia, and Lombardia, Prussia receives enormous territorial compensation on the Rhine, Netherlands annexes Belgium and enters a personal union with Luxembourg, German and Italian states highly consolidated. The ensuing balance of powers prevents major inter-European Wars until World War One.
