*known as the father of antiseptic medicine, lister strictly enforced the doctors and nurses to wash their hands thoroughly before going into surgery. also, he instructed to use heat to sterilize the surgical instruments* went to school at the university of London
*(interesting fact) he was the Queen’s surgeon for many years
