Description:
The Atlanta Campaign was a major win for the Union, boosting Northern morale and hastening the Confederacy's defeat. Union General William T. Sherman fought against Confederate generals Joseph E. Johnston and John B. Hood in a series of battles in Northern Georgia, where he forced surrender of Atlanta. After this event, General Sherman embarked on his March to the Sea. It was a Union victory.
