René Descartes (1 janv. 1596 – 1 janv. 1650)
Description:
Descarte's separation of the human mind from the physical world it observed and recorded made possible the idea of objective knowledge and representation. A great deal of seventeenth- and eighteenth-century music seeks to represent objects, including human emotions, and to formulate rules for doing so. Representing, evoking , and moving the affections, particular expressive and emotional states, emerged as primary concerns in music.
