Description:
The Carthaginian commander Hannibal laid Siege to Saguntum, A roman allied city that lay within the sphere of interest for the Carthaginians and were also raiding Carthaginian territories. The Romans declared war with the reason that the Carthaginians attack a ‘friendly’ city. After a big Roman defeat (Between 50.000 – 70.000 thousands, they elected a new general for the army Scipio Africanus. He managed to defeat the Carthaginians by adapting to their guerilla tactics and drawing them back to Spain. He defeated Hannibal in a decisive victory at 202 B.C.E near Carthage.
