Karl Barth (1 janv. 1886 – 1 janv. 1968)

Description:

Influenced by Kant and Schlelermacher. Became a Social Democrat.
WWI led him to doubt the liberal utopia and rejected his former convictions.
developed a crisis theology (neo-orthodoxy).
Wrote a systematic theology on the Word of God in Christian Dogmatics.
Believed it was too philosophical. Later wrote Church Dogmatics (1932-67).

Strongly opposed Nazism. Retired in Switzerland.
