George Walker (1803–1879) (13 mars 1803 – 23 avr. 1879)
Description:
An English chess player and author of several books on chess.He founded both the Westminster Chess Club in 1831 and the St.Georges Club in 1834.
He wrote a chess column in Bell's Life in London, a weekly sporting paper. He used this column to propagate organizing the international London 1851 chess tournament, the first international chess tournament.
