Description:
Established by Isabella of Castile; it was intended to encourage faithfulness to doctrine. It wound up resulting in immense persecution and expulsion of Jews and Muslims from Spain.The Inquisition was exacerbated at the coming of the Protestant Reformation and discovery of the New World.
