The battle of new Orleans happened after the war of 1812 but word of the end of the war did not reach the British forces on their way to attack new Orleans. But the US defenses led by general Andrew Jackson where able to defeat the attacking British troops the casualties where outstanding were general Andrew Jackson and his army fought the British suffered 2,000 casualties and the us outstandingly only had 8 casualties and 13 woundedauthor is Jacob editor is Waylon
