Description:

(1271-1368) This dynasty was started by Genghis Khan's grandson Kublai in 13th century China. Kublai's father died when he was 17 years old. During this time, Ogodei Khan, Genghis Khan's third son, was the ruler of the Mongol Empire. He gave Kublai 10,000 households in the Hopei province in 1236. He slowly gained more and more power, and in the year 1279 he completed the conquest of China that was started by Genghis Khan in 1211 and became the first Yuan ruler of China.
