Description:
On 1898 April 21st the United States and Spain went to war. There were a few reasons why they went to war but the main ones were America's support in the struggle of Cubans and Filipinos fighting against Spanish rule. Also the unexplained explosion of the battleship U.S.S. Maine in Havana the Harbor. The Treaty of Paris ended the Spanish-American War was signed on December 10, 1898. In the treaty Spain gave up all their claim to Cuba followed with Guam and Puerto Rico to the United States. The war ended in 1898 December 10th with the victory of the United States.
