1202 - 1203The second shogun of Japan’s Kamakura shogunate was Minamoto no Yoriie who was born on September 11, 1182. He became shogun when his father, Minamoto no Yoritomo, died in 1199. He abandoned his father's policies causing his mother to forbid him from any political activities. His powers were formally taken on June 30 ,1203. He was assassinated in his Izu mansion on August 14, 1204
