Montgomery bus boycott (1 déc. 1955 – 20 déc. 1956)
Description:
The Montgomery bus boycott was a period in which African American passengers protested for non-segregated bus. A major factor that started this boycott is when, Claudette Colvin, Rosa Parks, and a few other declined to give up seats to white people. This led to many African Americans in Alabama refusing to ride the city buses based on the fact that they were forced to give up to seats to white passengers in their segregated state. This is an act that proved extremely affective by helping progress the civil rights movement.
