The Z1 (1 janv. 1935 – 1 janv. 1938)

Description:

The first real programmable computer that was built was the Z1. It was a mechanical computer designed by Konrad Zuse and was designed from 1935 to 1936, then being built between 1936 and 1938. It was a computer that ran on binary electricity and was a mechanical calculator, and compared to the machines we consider computers nowadays, it has very limited programming and capabilities. The Z1 was the first freely programmable computer in the world that we know of and was a major step in technological advancement towards the computers we now have today. It also contained almost all the parts of a modern computer; it had a control unity, memory, floating point logic and input/output devices for example.
