The Wilmot Proviso (8 août 1846 – 1 janv. 1851)
Description:
The Wilmot Proviso was proposed to David Wilmot for the Mexican-American War. If passed, it would have outlawed slavery in territory acquired by the U.S. He spent about two years fighting for his plan. His slogan, or cry, could just not work. He offered many things but they all failed.
