Одной из первых удар немецких войск приняла Брестская крепость. Находясь в окружении более месяца небольшой гарнизон Брестской крепости не давал врагу проникнуть туда. Последние сопротивления были подавлены в августе 1945 года. Один из последних защитников Бреста написал на стене: "Я умираю, но не сдаюсь! Прощай, Родина".-----
The Brest Fortress was one of the first to receive a blow from the German troops. Being surrounded for more than a month, the small garrison of the Brest fortress did not allow the enemy to enter there. The last resistance was crushed in August 1945. One of the last defenders of Brest wrote on the wall: "I'm dying, but I'm not giving up! Goodbye, Motherland".
