Causes:○population boom=increased demand for food
○Growth of "big science"
Effects:
○Less people needed to produce food→ growth in other fields of work + urbanization
○More abundant harvests that are more resistant to pests (pesticides-->less disease)
○New advancements= expensive--> the reduction of small farms and the growth of big farms run by corporations (commercial farming)
