Description:

The Gilded Age was a period of change in the economy, technology, government, and social customs. This period was said that it was one of the lowest points of America. It was a time when racism was worse than any other period, it was a period where greedy, corrupt industrialists, bankers, and politicians enjoyed wealth, while the poor were unfairly suffering. It was said to be gross materialism and blatant political corruption in American history. Andrew Carnegie was an industrialist who was the owner of Carnegie Steel who was the perfect example of a self made man rising from being poor to becoming one of the richest people ever. "Do your duty and a little more and the future will take care of itself." it makes sense why he would say this to people since that's exactly what he did to become one of the rich.
