Description:
(7 year war, aka the French and Indian war) First global war. Fought in north America, Europe, south America, coast of Africa, India, and the PhilippinesBrittain v France over control of America, India, and dominance in Europe.
In north America: British colonist wanted to expand west, land owned by the French. Also about trade: French want access to trade with Amerindians, and Spain wants access to sugar islands + metals. Much early fighting done by colonial militias. French were generally better to Amerindians, so many fought on their side.
French keeps losing battles, and eventually loses. Signs Treaty of Paris.
*Limits french presence in India and North America
*greatly increased British debt, so Britain taxes colonies, which was a primary cause for the revolution
