Description:
The early leaders of the Zhou Dynasty introduced the idea of the Mandate of Heaven. This philosophy meant taught that the Kings gained authority because the gods thought that they were worthy enough. If they weren't worthy enough, the gods would send signs like floods, earthquakes and other natural disasters.
