Sir Adam Beck is a politician who helped in making Hydro-Electricity. He was born in January 20 1857 and died August 15 1925. He owned a company called Ontario Hydro that was moved to London, Ont in 1885. His plan as mayor was to get cheaper electricity from Niagara Falls. This got him involved with municipalities and boards of trade. He helped establish public enterprise tradition. In 1914 Sir Adam Beck was knighted by King George V for his work and promotion on electricity and his development of transmission lines. Sir Adam Beck helped make one of Canada’s biggest electricity sources that would stay main stream for centuries to come.
