Epidemics of the Americas (4 sept. 1600 – 4 sept. 1700)
Description:
When Columbus discovered Cuba and then America he brought with him new crops, animals, and deadly diseases. Columbus brought with him diseases that Native Americans never saw the likes of before. These new diseases swept through the Native Americans ravaging their population killing anywhere from 80 to 90% of their population. The main disease were smallpox, measles, and malaria. These diseases were singlehandedly able to take down the Aztec and Inca Empires.
